Carey Price was always a crowd favorite in Montreal and he was also a favorite of Marc Bergevin. The former general manager never shied away from saying that he loved Carey like his own son and that he would never try to trade him, no matter what.
The relationship between the two men was very deep, so much so that Carey would have mentioned to Bergevin, a few years ago during a golf tournament, that he only had three seasons left to play in the NHL.
Nevertheless, the former Tricolore GM did nothing of the sort and we thank him. After all, he left a nice legacy to Kent Hughes with high level prospects, which he himself did not have the luxury of when he replaced Pierre Gauthier.
