What's going on with the Jeff Petry case?
Despite his disastrous season and his desire to leave the Montreal organization, number 26 still has a good value on the market. The opposing leaders seem to be aware that his bad season is not representative for the blue-white-red defender.
According to Darren Dreger's postponement on TSN, obviously MANY formations would be interested in adding Jeff Petry to their defensive corpse. A addition like this can be a game-changer, especially if he's not being used as the number one defender.
Petry is 34 years old and his current $6.25 million annual agreement ends in July 2025. Of course, we are talking about a heavy contract if we judge with the current year, but if he gets back to his usual performance, the pact is basically honest, right?
With this information delivered by Dreger, could Petry be the first to leave the ship? Maybe!
