Now that Cole Caufield's season is unfortunately over, we can certainly say that Arber Xhekaj is one of the few very entertaining players still in the Montreal Canadiens lineup.
"WiFi" puts on a solid show and consistently makes an impact in games.
So it makes sense to see him on the ice a lot, and he gets so much attention that it seems like he does and that he gets a lot of minutes played per game but, that's not the case.

On this topic, analysts Maxim Lapierre and Mario Langlois on Les Amateurs de Sports were just looking at this.
Why isn't Arber Xhekaj playing more?
As of today, Xhekaj is, after all, only the eighth most used defenseman by Martin St. Louis.
It's really surprising and disappointing, but that's the case.
Considering Xhekaj's average playing time per game (15:07), out of the nine defensemen who have made the roster, he is eighth, behind
Justin Barron and Johnatan Kovacevic.
So Max Lapierre sent a little message to Martin St-Louis, or at least made a request:
"I'd like to see him on the ice more. It's not enough for me, I don't understand why. Why doesn't he play 20 minutes?"
For the past few games, he has been playing very little:
It's true that Xhekaj has a direct impact when he's on the ice, and he seems to be ready to play more minutes.
It must be said that he will have to lower his penalty minutes per game, if he wants to help himself increase his minutes played per game.
