Last night, after his team's crushing defeat to the Ottawa Senators, young Montreal Canadiens forward Cole Caufield let himself go a bit more in the press conference and opened up an interesting topic of discussion.
We've heard that behind the scenes, it's an aspect that players are increasingly despising, and Caufield just brought it to the public.
We're talking about the infamous "back-to-back games."
And number 22 didn't hold back yesterday (and rightly so):
Rest assured, he is probably saying out loud what many are thinking quietly.
The back-to-back games have been a subject of debate for a long time, but Cole has reignited the discussion.
Should the league eliminate these 24-hour back-to-back games, or even worse, the three games in four nights as the Habs just experienced?
It's worth considering.
On a much more positive note, Caufield also mentioned that it is obviously encouraging for him to have scored in a fourth consecutive game.
