Andre Tourigny was interviewed by Martin Lemay on BPM Sports.

Indeed, the Tricolor did not send the very first pick of the last draft to play for his country for the World Junior Championship, which could be a serious mistake for a very specific reason.

According to Tourigny, Slafkovsky was playing with men last year. He also participated in the Olympics with the Slovak team and then joined the Habs. In all three situations, Slaf was in the younger players and certainly not a leader in the room.

The Coyotes' head coach adds that leadership can be learned. The last time the Habs' number 20 had a chance to lead his team was probably at the midget level. Inevitably, Slaf will have to become a leader on the Habs one day and an experience like the World Juniors, where Juraj would have the chance to act as one of the leaders of the team, would be very beneficial for his development
