The Jack Eichel file could be on the verge of being officially opened in the next few days, or even hours, since several teams are in the running. Serious discussions would be opened between the Sabres and interested clubs, thanks to the additional information of Eichel's medical data.
"Both sides are hopeful that there will be something that can be done with one of the organizations in the running!"
The Rangers? The Ducks? The Jackets?
On the subject of Eichel, let me remind you that he is avoiding the Buffalo Sabres organization as much as possible, that he lost his captaincy, that he changed agents and that he is still suffering from a neck injury (cervical injury). Of course, he failed the Sabres' physicals, so they may place him on the long-term injured list.
By the way, forget about the Montreal Canadiens among the teams in contention since they don't really have any more cards to play with the departure of Jesperi Kotkaniemi. Unless they dump Christian Dvorak in a package deal? No! Add to that the fact that Eichel is pocketing a salary of $10 million annually for another five years... Just one player at 10 million or more (Carey Price) is enough, right?
