Last night as they faced the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Los Angeles Kings stirred reactions across the NHL, especially in Quebec, when they revealed their official lines for the game.
Wow.
The Quebecois forward is thus being punished by his head coach for his obvious lack of effort.
He now finds himself on the team's fourth line, alongside Carl Grundstrom and Trevor Lewis. It's Blake Lizotte who has taken his spot as center in the Top-9.
See the official lines.
"Byfield - Kopitar - Kempe
Fiala - Danault - Moore
Laferriere - Lizotte - Kaliyev
Grundstrom - Dubois - Lewis"
He finished the game with a disastrous differential of -2 despite his limited use. Ouch. (and he didn't score a single point)
After signing a big contract of 68 million dollars for 8 years this summer, Dubois is really having a tough start to the season.
Dubois, 25 years old, was traded this summer for Gabriel Vilardi, Alex Iafallo, Rasmus Kupari, and a 2nd round pick in 2024.
What a transaction and what a catastrophic signing so far for Los Angeles.
Dubois has 16 points in 37 games. (Kings)
Vilardi has 18 points in 22 games. (Jets)
Iafallo has 17 points in 39 games. (Jets)
Kupari has 16 points in his last 79 games. (Jets)
It seems like the general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, dodged a bullet by not acquiring Dubois. Well played!
