Breaking : Jack McBain Signs a Contract and it's a Good Move
In the final seconds, the Arizona Coyotes have reached an agreement on the terms of a brand new contract with their young forward, Jack McBain.
This is what Sportsnet journalist Elliotte Friedman has just reported.
"Arizona and Jack McBain have settled on a 2x$1.6 million contract, avoiding salary arbitration."
"I'm told the actual figure is $1,599,999 per year."
Elliotte Friedman
McBain, 23 years old, is a big center standing at 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 205 pounds. He collected 26 points in 82 games last season, following a strong performance in the NCAA with Boston College (33 points and 19 goals in 24 games).
It's still quite absurd, considering that the amount wasn't exactly $1.6M, but $1,599,999. The Coyotes are already regarded as the laughing stock of the league, and a move like this will certainly not improve their reputation.
If these players want to be seen as professionals, they should behave like professionals. And if the Coyotes were the ones asking for $1 less than $1.6M in this situation, that's really a sad and poor situation.
