The future of Sidney Crosby with the Pittsburgh Penguins has been a huge talking point for weeks.

That said, he is not the only player in the organization who could be on his way out of the Steel City, as there is also talk about a certain Evgeni Malkin.
The forward will be playing the final year of his contract in 2025-2026, and all signs point to it being his last season with the Penguins after nearly 20 years with the team.
Since the team is expected to go through a difficult season, general manager Kyle Dubas could be a very busy man over the next few months, and now an insider has reported that three teams have shown interest in Malkin.

We have three team names interested in a trade involving Evgeni Malkin, including the Montreal Canadiens

As reported by Marco D'Amico, RG Media journalist Jimmy Murphy stated that both Florida teams, the Panthers and the Lightning, as well as the Montreal Canadiens, have contacted the Penguins to inquire about Evgeni Malkin's availability.
Wow!
"The talk has been all about Sidney Crosby, but James Murphy reports that there has been trade interest in Evgeni Malkin too.

Montreal, Tampa Bay and Florida have been reported to have shown interest in the recent past."

So, it seems to come down to these three teams.
This is quite interesting news, as we know that Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton have been searching for a second-line center for months.
If we now talk about players who could leave the Montreal Canadiens in order to bring Evgeni Malkin to town, the names Joshua Roy, Kirby Dach, and Mike Matheson have surfaced.
