As Gilbert Delorme mentioned this morning on BPM Sports, it really feels like the end for the 6-foot Montreal Canadiens forward
Joshua Roy
.
This 2025 training camp was probably his last chance to have a career in Montreal
, before the arrival of
Michael Hage
,
Alexander Zharovsky
, and others, but things are not going the way the forward hoped.
He now seems to have officially been surpassed (in the forward hierarchy) by
Oliver Kapanen
,
Owen Beck
, Joe Veleno,
Samuel Blais
,
Florian Xhekaj
, and even
Vinzenz Rohrer
.
It's Over for Joshua Roy and He Will Not Play for the Canadiens, According to Gilbert Delorme
Especially after last night's game, it really does seem obvious.
"I'll say it.. Joshua Roy will not play for the Canadiens.
No malice, nothing against the kid, but there's no place for a player like that.
I'm sorry, but there's no place for a player like that!
It's true that he's a bit faster and all, but it's still not enough!
He doesn't skate, you can't play in the National Hockey League.. you have to skate!" - Gilbert Delorme, this morning on BPM Sports

Do you agree with him?
It will be really interesting to see what happens with Roy in the coming days, but don't be surprised if he is outright traded at the end of camp.
Joshua Roy, 22 years old, is a 6-foot, 192-pound forward who was a 5th-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in 2021 (150th overall).
He has 11 points in 35 NHL games, including 6 goals, and last season he recorded 35 points in 47 games with the Laval Rocket.
