We got an interesting statement from journalist Mathias Brunet regarding Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine.
This isn't the first time we've heard this, and the rumor continues to grow-more and more sources are suggesting a Habs trade involving Laine.

It seems clear Brunet isn't just throwing this out there for fun.
He must know something..
Personally, I don't see why the Canadiens would rush to offload Laine-unless it's to give more opportunities to younger players, especially on the power play.
If Canadiens management plans to give big power play minutes to players like Ivan Demidov, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, Noah Dobson, Lane Hutson, and Zachary Bolduc (on top of Patrik Laine), there's obviously going to be a logjam.
That could explain the trade rumors surrounding Laine.
If the Canadiens no longer need him on the power play, it becomes hard to justify his $8.7 million annual salary.
In short, this will be a situation to watch closely this summer concerning Patrik Laine and his contract.
