Jordan Kyrou Opens Up About Canadiens Trade Rumors and Why He's Glad It Never Happened

Jordan Kyrou finally broke his silence on those summer trade rumors linking him to the Canadiens, and his answer makes it clear he's relieved nothing happened.
The St. Louis Blues forward obviously must have heard a lot about it, and let's just say he's quite happy to still be a member of the Missouri-based team.
As reported by the site DLC, Jordan Kyrou spoke with journalist Matthew DeFranks, who covers the Blues for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and judging by his comments, he's very glad that Kent Hughes didn't acquire him during the offseason.

It's rare for a player to speak so openly about a trade rumor!
"That's the first time I was kind of a little nervous, maybe. But I'm glad nothing happened and glad I'm staying here with the Blues. I love it here. I love living here. It's like my home now."

Kyrou also told the journalist that he's happy to remain with the Blues because he feels at home within the organization that drafted him in the second round of the 2016 draft.
It's worth recalling that the Canadiens' general manager had numerous discussions with his Blues counterpart, Doug Armstrong, about Kyrou, but they ultimately did not lead to anything.
The two teams still made a move, though, with the trade of Zachary Bolduc for Logan Mailloux.
