Insider Reveals a Logan Mailloux Trade Is Possible Under One Main Condition

Everything indicates that Kent Hughes is indeed listening to offers for his young defenseman, and that's exactly what was recently discussed by the excellent Marco D'Amico.

In his opinion, the Canadiens would only trade Mailloux under one condition.

According to Marco D'Amico, who recently appeared on TSN 690, the Canadiens would only trade Mailloux if they received a top-six center in return.

It wouldn't necessarily be a one-for-one trade either, of course, but Mailloux could be included in that type of deal.

So it's clear the Canadiens are not in any rush to move Mailloux.

Kent Hughes seems open to trading Mailloux, but he's also completely comfortable with keeping him.

At 22 years old, Logan Mailloux is a big right-shot defenseman, standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 213 pounds.

There's no doubt he has an intriguing profile.

The Canadiens' 31st overall pick in 2021 recorded 33 points in 63 games this season with the Laval Rocket (adding 6 points in 13 playoff games), and he has 5 points in 8 NHL games.

If Mailloux does end up being traded, it feels like it would happen within the next two weeks, during the 2025 NHL Draft.
