We've got action on the NHL trade market. It's not necessarily the surprise of the year, but two sources have just confirmed that New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider is available on the trade block.
David Pagnotta even believes that not only is Kreider available, but the Rangers might actively try to trade him themselves.
Chris Kreider Placed on the NHL Trade Market: Montreal Canadiens Are Watching
According to Pagnotta, Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens are already on alert for opportunities and are relatively active on the trade market.
Here are the two key pieces of information to know today:
1 - Chris Kreider is available for a trade.
2 - The Montreal Canadiens are already getting to work.
All the details are in the full episode, but that's essentially what was mentioned.
"Also touched on Chris Kreider, whom the Rangers are believed to try and dangle, again, this off-season"
- David Pagnotta, The Fourth Period
Kreider, now 34 years old, is a 6-foot-3, 230-pound forward who was drafted 19th overall (1st round) by the New York Rangers in 2009.
He recorded 30 points in 68 games this season (22 goals and 8 assists), after putting up 75 points in 82 games (39 goals) the previous season with the Rangers.
He earns $6.5 million per year through 2027, so his current trade value likely isn't very high.
