We finally have concrete and very interesting information regarding the Montreal Canadiens and the NHL trade market.
According to the well-known Chris Johnston, the Montreal Canadiens are officially open to trading one of their 2025 first-round picks (either the 16th or 17th overall) along with defenseman Logan Mailloux. Wow.
So, expect Kent Hughes to try to trade Mailloux plus a 2025 first-round pick, possibly in exchange for a second-line center.

It feels like the end for Mailloux here.
Logan Mailloux, 22 years old, is a 6-foot-3, 213-pound right-shot defenseman who tallied 33 points in 63 games this season with the Laval Rocket, including 12 goals. He also added 6 points in 11 AHL playoff games so far.
It'll be very interesting to see what happens next in his case, but don't be surprised if he follows in the footsteps of Alexander Romanov, especially since he seems to have solid trade value.
It's not the first time Mailloux's name has come up in trade rumors, but this time, it seems to be the real deal.
Definitely a story to watch over the next few weeks and after Laval's playoff run.
