According the David Pagnotta, Ducks have spoken with "other teams," and let's just say we have excellent reason to believe that the Montreal Canadiens are among them.
David Pagnotta: Re Mason McTavish: "It seems to be hesitancy on the players side based on just the uncertainty of what is role is; his name has been out there; they've had talks with other teams" - Campbell vs Gallo
Mason McTavish, 22, is a complete center, standing 6'2" and weighing 220 pounds, drafted 3rd overall by the Anaheim Ducks in 2021.
He has 140 points in 229 career NHL games, including 60 goals, and recorded 52 points in 76 games during the 2024-25 season, while playing on the third line and with limited power play time.
McTavish would quite literally be the perfect acquisition to complete the Canadiens' rebuild, but acquiring him would be extremely difficult without including Michael Hage, David Reinbacher, or Jacob Fowler.
