We have a new signing to announce within the Montreal Canadiens organization, a 6-foot-1 signing, to be exact.
It's happening at the organization's third level, with the Trois-Rivières Lions, and it involves Quebec defenseman Noah Massie.
Quebec defenseman Noah Massie joins the Montreal Canadiens organization
The Trois-Rivières Lions, the Montreal Canadiens' ECHL affiliate, have just announced the signing of defenseman Noah Massie.
"The Trois-Rivières Lions have signed defenseman Noah Massie following training camp!
Welcome to the team, Noah!"
- Trois-Rivières Lions
It's always interesting news, even for those who only follow the Canadiens, because these are players who often show up at Montreal's training camps and sometimes manage to surprise.
Noah Massie, 26 years old and originally from St-Lazare (Quebec), is a left-handed defenseman standing 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 190 pounds.
He collected 7 points across nearly 100 QMJHL games, playing for the Moncton Wildcats and the Charlottetown Islanders.
He's definitely a more physical player, having accumulated 95 penalty minutes in just 39 games with Summerside.
With Massie's arrival, the Canadiens continue to strengthen their organizational depth on defense.
We'd like to welcome him to the Montreal Canadiens organization. He'll help fill a role in Trois-Rivières, as several Lions defensemen are currently helping out with the Laval Rocket while players like
David Reinbacher,
William Trudeau, Joshua Jacobs, and others recover from injuries.
It's always exciting to see another Quebec talent join the organization - welcome to the Habs family, Noah!
