Among the Montreal Canadiens prospects who had a good training camp is Vinzenz Rohrer.

A third-round pick in the 2022 draft, the Austrian forward left a very good impression on the team's management.
However, as reported by DLC, the 21-year-old did not expect to be cut so early despite the excellent camp he had with the Canadiens.

Vinzenz Rohrer publicly admits he was disappointed to be cut so early by Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens

He really didn't see it coming.
At least, that's what came out during an interview the Canadiens prospect gave to journalist Maximilian Girschele, who works for the media outlet LAOLA1.
Rohrer stated that he would have liked to stay longer in Montreal to gain more experience, but in the end, he had to return to Switzerland.
"I didn't expect that to happen that weekend.

They told me that I had a good camp and left a good impression, but they want to see me continue to progress.

I just turned 21."

- Vinzenz Rohrer
After being cut from the Canadiens' camp, he has since joined the Zurich Lions in the National League in Switzerland, and another year in Europe could be beneficial for the Canadiens prospect.
It'll be interesting to see how Rohrer's confidence and offensive touch evolve overseas, especially with the Canadiens closely tracking his progress ahead of next year's development camp.
Just look at what is happening with Oliver Kapanen currently with the Canadiens, and it's clear that continuing one more year of development on the other side of the Atlantic has paid off.
