We love Celebrini, but we would never make this trade.
Yes, Celebrini is special, but so is Caufield, and furthermore, a player like Cole Eiserman could also be special and available at the Canadiens' 6th overall pick.
Celebrini, 17 years old, is dominating in the NCAA with Lane Hutson at Boston University.
The player who will be the 1st overall pick in 2024 is a center standing 6 feet tall and weighing 190 pounds, who has collected an incredible 59 points (31 goals) in 35 games, a historic tally for a 17-year-old in the NCAA.
However, he's not a generational talent like Connor Bedard, and giving up a Cole Caufield along with a top-7 pick overall is too costly for our liking.
