Trade involving Jake Allen: here's finally what Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens would receive for the goaltender if they decide to trade him
As you know, Jake Allen has been sensational in his recent starts for the Montreal Canadiens, and moreover, at times when there were many scouts from other NHL teams in the stands.
Some general managers were also present.
In short, Jake Allen's trade value has really increased in recent days. He has proven that he can win games on his own, which is huge.
How much has his value increased? This is what TSN expert Craig Button discussed.
In his opinion, it is inevitable that teams looking for another good goaltender are closely monitoring the Canadiens right now.
"If you're looking to improve at the goaltender position, there's no chance you're not looking at Montreal (for Jake Allen) [...] I think the Canadiens could receive a significant return in exchange for Jake Allen."
Craig Button
Interesting! He talks about a "significant return", wow! We are far from what was said this summer.
The Buffalo Sabres, indeed, and the Tampa Bay Lightning are two clubs to watch for Allen, in addition to the Colorado Avalanche. (with whom Kent Hughes loves to negotiate)
Button is convinced that Kent Hughes might be able to receive a good draft pick or a good prospect in a trade for Allen.
However, the question is:
Would you be comfortable with a duo composed of Samuel Montembeault and Cayden Primeau? Without any other veteran?
In any case, stay tuned, but from what Button says, Jake Allen's trade value would be very interesting and Kent Hughes might try to take advantage of it sooner rather than later.
