The Washington Capitals have just informed the other 31 clubs in the National Hockey League that forward Anthony Mantha is officially on the trading block.
He has apparently played his last game in Washington, wow!
Since the very beginning of this rumor, Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens have been linked to this case by many, because we're talking here about a new "Sean Monahan style" deal.
The Capitals no longer see Mantha in their plans and they want to offload his contract, having a cap space of $7.3 million for next season, with only 17 players signed.
Mantha, 28, has amassed 27 points in 67 games this season with the Caps. He was acquired from the Detroit Red Wings in April 2021, in exchange for Jakub Vrana, a 2021 1st round pick, and a 2022 2nd round pick.
He notably collected 23 points in 37 games in 2022 and 38 points in 43 games in 2020.
Would you make this trade?
