Major Goalie Trade Looming Between the Canadiens and Wild?
Over the past few minutes, the TVA Sports network has published an article linking a Montreal Canadiens goaltender, namely Jake Allen, to the Minnesota Wild.
«The Minnesota team could well need reinforcement in the nets since Filip Gustavsson was placed on the injured list on Monday.
He will be out for several weeks, according to what reporter Michael Russo says. Gustavsson had left the game against the Jets on Saturday due to a lower body injury." - TVA Sports This is indeed what the Wild has just officially announced. The goalies are currently Marc-André Fleury and Zane McIntyre.
Details to follow.
McIntyre has played eight career NHL games and is 31 years old. (efficiency of 0.858 and average of 4.02) They will clearly need reinforcements and it will be interesting to see if Bill Guerin turns to his phone to call Kent Hughes.
The Wild cannot afford to slip in the standings because of McIntyre, but they also cannot afford to overburden Fleury.
