Despite probably having his best moments in three years in a Habs uniform, forward Jonathan Drouin continues to polarize the opinion of hockey fans in Quebec.
As we know, No. 27 may be in his final games in Montreal, as he will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. As reported by my colleagues at Fanadiens.com, Drouin even admitted that the end was possibly approaching with the CH.
"For sure I know the situation I'm in right now. This is my last year of my contract. It's up to me to show that, if a team wants me in the future or on March 3, I'm capable of coming in and playing and I'm capable of going out and playing for another team."
This sudden resurgence of life of the Quebec striker is very pleased with the fans of the Canadiens, but for some experts, let's say that this enthusiasm fades rather quickly. This is in fact the case of a former head coach of the CH.
Michel Therrien, now an analyst for TVA Sports, was not very kind to Jonathan Drouin during his intervention in the pre-game of last Saturday's game between the Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
"A guy like Drouin, who says he's aware of his situation, honestly, I find it insulting. When the player realizes he's caught in a trap and wants to get out of it (...) I would have liked it if he had that attitude when the Habs went after him for (Mikhail) Sergachev."
