We have an interesting development for the Montreal Canadiens on the NHL trade market, involving the Seattle Kraken. Strangely, this isn't being talked about nearly enough, but the Canadiens and the Kraken are actually great trade partners.
On one hand, Montreal is seriously and actively looking to acquire a center.
And on the other hand, Seattle has a major surplus of centers.
They already had Chandler Stephenson, Matty Beniers, Shane Wright, Tye Kartye, and Jared McCann at center-and now, they've oddly just acquired another center in Frédérick Gaudreau.
And that's not even including Berkly Catton, David Goyette, and Jake O'Brien (the 8th overall pick in the 2025 draft), who will be arriving fairly soon.
So it's no surprise that a new rumor has just surfaced.

Jared McCann, 29 years old, is a 6-foot-1, 191-pound center who's a very complete player-and he's put up solid totals of 61, 62, and 70 points in his last three seasons.
In 2022-23, he scored 40 goals in 79 games-just imagine!
