Some experts even anticipate that the Canadiens' management will be active in the trade market, and as reported by the site Marqueur, an intriguing proposal has recently surfaced on social media.
A trade between the Montreal Canadiens and Pittsburgh Penguins, involving veterans Christian Dvorak and Kevin Hayes, has just been proposed, and according to journalist Dave Jenkins, this deal could benefit both teams.
As we know, there are rumors circulating that Kent Hughes is looking to free up cap space, and Dvorak's name frequently comes up, as he will be entering the final year of his contract in the 2024-2025 season.
However, if Hughes wants to move the American forward's contract, he will have to accept the hefty contract of Kevin Hayes, who has two more years remaining with an annual salary of $7.14 million.
Last season with the St. Louis Blues, Hayes only scored 29 points in 79 games, and he was later traded to Pittsburgh along with a 2025 second-round pick for future considerations.
