Logan Mailloux addresses summer trade rumors and shares his plan for the future
During the summer, Logan Mailloux's name was linked to several trade rumors.
This was particularly the case with the Anaheim Ducks in connection with Trevor Zegras. However, Kent Hughes wasn't tempted to send him to another team, as he believes Mailloux is part of the organization's future plans.
On that note, here is a statement from Mailloux that speaks volumes about his intentions to play with the Canadiens for a long time.
Logan Mailloux really wants to stay with the Montreal Canadiens for the long term
When asked by Martin McGuire about the many trade rumors surrounding him throughout the summer, the tall right-handed defenseman had this to say:
«I want to play here for my whole career. I love the fans, the people, the staff, and my teammates. It's incredible here and I want to stay for my entire career.»
Let's just say that's pretty clear!
Despite all the controversy surrounding his selection at the very end of the first round in 2021, we can now say that the young man has definitely turned the page on that chapter and is now 100% committed to the Canadiens.
Mailloux will be fighting for a regular spot with the Canadiens this fall, but he will face tough competition on the right side of the defensive unit, with players like David Reinbacher and Justin Barron also in the mix.
