Defenseman TJ Brodie Placed on NHL Waivers: First Player Available for Free This Summer

"TJ Brodie is on waivers for the purpose of a buyout."

"The Blackhawks have placed TJ Brodie on unconditional waivers for the purpose of a buyout."

Following the buyout, Chicago will face a cap hit of 3.233 million dollars in 2025-26 and 258,333 dollars in 2026-27."

At 35 years old, Brodie is a 6-foot-2, 187-pound left-shot defenseman with 358 points in 962 career NHL games.
Last season with the Chicago Blackhawks, he recorded 10 points in 54 games and had a minus-18 rating.
