Game canceled: the NHL has just released an official statement
During the last few seconds, the National Hockey League has issued an official statement to announce that tonight's game between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Buffalo Sabres is canceled.
It is expected to be rescheduled for tomorrow, 7 p.m., according to circulating information.
The game will not take place tonight due to a "massive snowstorm," as stated in the press release.
This is reminiscent of the announcement from the NFL, which had to postpone a Buffalo Bills game earlier this week for the exact same reasons.
New Update from the NHL and Sabres
"Due to the current weather conditions affecting the greater Buffalo area, tonight's game against the Blackhawks has been postponed to tomorrow, Thursday, January 18th at 7 p.m." - Buffalo Sabres
Anyway, the weather is stirring things up this week in Buffalo and Niagara Falls.
More details will follow.
