While we await an official announcement from the Montreal Canadiens, Steve Kouleas (from NHL Network) made an announcement about Patrik Laine.

He just mentioned this:

Patrik Laine will be out at least until January 2025

Here's his exact statement:

"According to sources As we just discussed on SiriusXM NHL, Patrik Laine of the Montreal Canadiens will be out at least until the end of the 2024 calendar year."

- Steve Kouleas

He seems to leave the door open for 2025.

Take it for what it's worth, but it could possibly be a small glimmer of hope that we might see him back during the season:

"Interesting. Does that leave the door open for 2025, maybe?"

- HFTV

I remain very skeptical, however, even though his information is certainly worth noting.

Let's hope that the Montreal Canadiens make an official and clear announcement soon, precisely so that this speculation stops and we can have a clear verdict.

Patrik Laine, who left his team's most recent preseason game after a hard "knee-to-knee" collision with the Toronto Maple Leafs, was already present this morning in Brossard.

He attended the session and was on the players' bench to support his teammates, Patrik Laine is the real deal.

Details will follow, as we are also still awaiting news about young defenseman David Reinbacher, who also left the game against Toronto at the Bell Centre.
