In the last few seconds, the NHL has announced a controversial one-game suspension for Edmonton Oilers' defenseman Darnell Nurse.
See the fight in question:
It should be understood that Nurse was suspended for instigating the fight, which is a step further towards the abolition of fights in the NHL.
It's controversial, and it's all the more so because of this:
"The NHL is upholding Darnell Nurse's suspension, which is brutal. Mark Stone stated after the game that Nic Hague had asked for the fight before the face-off." - Frank Seravalli
So why is Nurse being suspended? We haven't heard the last of this.
