While the Montreal Canadiens are obviously not participating in the 2024 playoffs, the next step for Kent Hughes is the NHL lottery.
Several dates had been suggested, but we finally have a final answer.
Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens finally know the exact date they will find out their draft position for the 2024 draft.
The Macklin Celebrini lottery will take place on May 7th, which is very soon!

We are so excited! Let's obviously recall that the Canadiens officially hold:
- 8.5% chance of winning the 1st overall pick and Macklin Celebrini
- 17% chance of a top-2 pick (8.6% chance of winning the 2nd overall pick)
- 0.3% chance of winning the 3rd overall pick
- 24.5% chance of getting the 5th overall pick
- 44% chance of getting the 6th overall pick
- And finally, a 14.2% chance of getting the 7th overall pick
Celebrini had a historic season in the NCAA, with a tally of 32 goals and 32 assists (64 points) in just 38 games.
Among the names to watch are forwards Ivan Demidov, Cayden Lindstrom, Tij Iginla, Berkly Catton, and Cole Eiserman, and on defense, there are Artyom Levshunov and Zayne Parekh.
