The Blue Jackets drop an official statement on a player targeted with their third overall pick and it impacts Kent Hughes and the Canadiens
The Blue Jackets continue to surprise us with their innovations in terms of transparency and communications.
After publicly revealing that they will draft a center player with their third overall pick, they have now just outright published an official statement about Leo Carlsson, who should be their choice at the third overall rank.
At least, they confirm their serious interest in him and they set the stage.
Are you looking for a sturdy Swedish center? Well, Leo Carlsson is your man.

Well, it must be said that the Jackets have the luxury of being more open in their game, compared to the Montreal Canadiens.
They don't need to hide their game too much, because the two choices in front of them are pretty much set in stone.
They know very well that Connor Bedard will go first overall, and Adam Fantilli will be the second overall pick (and they have the third pick).
For months, we've known that their choice is likely to be between Carlsson and Will Smith.
Taking into consideration that they've set their sights on Carlsson, it would look like this:
1- Bedard
2- Fantilli
3- Carlsson
And the Sharks will have to make a decision between Will Smith and Matvei Michkov.
You can obviously guess that this will have a huge and direct impact on the Montreal Canadiens and their 5th overall pick.
Bring on the draft! We are so excited!
