Major twist regarding the player being drafted at the 3rd overall pick by Columbus, and it could change everything for Kent Hughes and the Canadiens
As you know, Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens hold the fifth overall pick in tomorrow night's draft, and this selection will heavily depend on what the Anaheim Ducks, Columbus Blue Jackets, and San Jose Sharks do with picks 2-3-4.
Regarding the Blue Jackets, there is some news.
As we reported a few weeks ago, they have already confirmed that they will be drafting a center player. They are not hiding it at all.
"I can confirm that the Jackets will be drafting a future number one center on Wednesday."
Their choice seems to be between Adam Fantilli, Leo Carlsson, and Will Smith.
But there's more.
See what a well-connected NHL scout just revealed.
"Columbus is seriously considering drafting Smith ahead of Carlsson."
Wow! That means Carlsson could actually be available with the 4th overall pick for the San Jose Sharks. If Kent Hughes manages to move up to the 4th spot, it would be huge.
Looking forward to the draft! We're really excited for tomorrow.
