Montreal Canadiens General Manager Kent Hughes was the guest of Pierre LeBrun, on his latest podcast "Got Yer Back," where he opened up about numerous topics.

He notably confirmed this:

And he revisited the Sean Monahan trade.

An entertaining moment of the episode is when Hughes recounts the time he had to break the news to his head coach Martin St-Louis.

A difficult phone call from Kent Hughes

See the passage in question.

Pierre Lebrun to Kent Hughes: «How was the conversation with Martin St. Louis after you traded Sean Monahan?»

KH: «Fortunately it was over the phone»

Watch the clip (40seconds):

Hughes adds that because it was over the phone, he didn't have to face St-Louis's looks and non-verbal reactions.

It was a short and direct phone call, let's just say!

Of course, this is mentioned in a light tone, and obviously, one can understand Martin taking it hard.

His goal is to win hockey games, and it becomes much more difficult for him to win games without an excellent player like Monahan.

A little moment that made us laugh.
