Phillip Danault skated with the Canadiens on Tuesday morning in Boston.
On Friday, the Montreal Canadiens acquired Danault from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick, and his first game with the Tricolore since the trade is quickly approaching.
His first full day with the group also comes at the perfect time, as the Canadiens head into tonight's crucial game in Boston while dealing with Jake Evans' injury.
Phillip Danault placed with Alexandre Texier and Josh Anderson: Cole Caufield and Brendan Gallagher were missing on the ice in Boston
Texier, 26, is on a one-year deal worth $1 million, and he has six points in 14 games this season. Anderson, 31, has 12 points in 35 games. His contract carries a $5.5 million cap hit.
There were 20 players on the ice at today's morning skate, but two names stood out. Caufield and Gallagher were absent.
"In total, 20 players took part in the session. Cole Caufield and Brendan Gallagher did not participate."
In goal, Martin St-Louis was also clear for the game against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden at 7 p.m. As previously mentioned, Jacob Fowler will get the start.
On Sunday, he recorded his first NHL shutout with 31 saves against the Penguins.
In short, the first few decisions have been made, and we finally have a real idea of tonight's possible lineup.
