Top 5 Pick Officially on the Trade Block, Opening Door for the Canadiens to Land Caleb Desnoyers
Trade talk is already heating up across the National Hockey League, and messages are starting to be sent ahead of the Draft.
As you know, earlier this week, the Utah Mammoth got a huge gift by winning the second lottery and landing the 4th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.
They could only move up 10 spots.
In any case, their general manager Bill Armstrong has already sent a very clear message to other teams, one that will certainly be heard by Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
The 4th Overall Pick in the Draft Has Just Been Placed on the Trade Market: A Golden Opportunity for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens
This is truly an incredible opportunity for the Habs to try and get their hands on future star player Caleb Desnoyers.
Here's what Utah's GM, who owns the 4th overall pick, had to say:
"We have so many options now.
We can go get a player, trade for another pick, shop it around in a deal.
We'll explore the options, but it's definitely an exciting time for us."
- Bill Armstrong
Listening to the clip, it's clear he's more open than ever to moving the pick.
This will definitely be a storyline to watch-especially for the Habs, since at 4th overall, a certain Caleb Desnoyers will very likely be available.
He's been the top Quebec prospect in years and is considered a future NHL star by many experts.
Desnoyers, 18, recorded 84 points in 56 games this season, including 35 goals, with the Moncton Wildcats.
He added 24 points in 13 playoff games (9 goals).
