Reinforcements Could Be Set to Arrive for the Canadiens Organization Just in Time for Playoff Run
The Laval Rocket were patiently waiting to find out their opponent for the North Division semifinal, and now it's official, they will face the Cleveland Monsters.
This extra waiting time could prove beneficial for the Rocket, as it may allow a new player to join the lineup ahead of the series.
Indeed, the 3rd-round pick from the 2022 draft (75th overall) is now free to cross the ocean to join the organization that drafted him.
This player, Vinzenz Rohrer, has just won a second consecutive championship in the Swiss league, ending his association in Europe.
The Canadiens prospect stands out with his intense playing style, full of grit.
His hockey IQ, skating fluidity, and fearlessness in driving to the net make him a standout forward.
Some even compare him, due to his smaller stature (5 feet 11 inches and 168 pounds) and his playing style, to an improved version of Brendan Gallagher.
In 52 games this season with Zurich SC in the Swiss league, Rohrer tallied 15 goals and 10 assists for a total of 25 points.
An increase of 6 points compared to the young man's previous season with the same club.
Both Austrians, the defenseman could therefore properly welcome his compatriot to the Rocket.
The arrival of Rohrer with the Laval Rocket could provide another interesting tool for Pascal Vincent as the playoffs approach.
Having a hard-working player like him in the lineup during the spring tournament is an advantage not to be overlooked.
