Patrik Laine Shows Bad Attitude at Practice Before Must-Win Game, Faces Heavy Criticism

Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine continues to make headlines, a phrase we've used several times over the past few months, and it still holds true.
In recent hours, it's his behavior that has sparked discussion, and not for the right reasons.
On 98.5 Sports, the Canadiens' play-by-play announcer Martin McGuire had plenty to say about number 92.
"I watched him at practice, and Patrik Laine didn't convince me he was ready physically or mentally. He was grumbling a bit, keeping to himself. There wasn't much interaction with other players [...] in terms of body language, it was like the blinds were closed!"
- Martin McGuire
Patrik Laine reportedly "not in the right mindset to play tonight's game"
You can judge for yourself what that means, but it seems to me there could be more than just his upper-body injury explaining his potential absence tonight.
Because purely on a physical level, I'm convinced he'd be able to play.
"What McGuire said is that Laine was off in a corner by himself, grumbling a bit. He didn't see him interact with others, unlike what was happening elsewhere on the ice.
McGuire also believes that when it comes to Laine's body language, it's like 'the blinds were closed.'"

This will be a situation to monitor today, but know that there could be several reasons behind Laine's potential absence.
It's now confirmed, Patrik Laine is officially out for tonight's do-or-die game 5 for the Canadiens.
