We have an update regarding the captain of the Montreal Canadiens, Nick Suzuki.
It confirms what we suspected, the rumor that Suzuki had declined Hockey Canada's invitation (for the IIHF World Championship) was inaccurate.
The excellent Marco D'Amico has just revealed new information on the matter, and he has a bit of a scoop regarding Suzuki.
Scoop: Nick Suzuki Has Been Called in for a Meeting and Four Spots Remain on Team Canada
"As of yesterday, Nick Suzuki still had not received the green light from the Canadiens' doctors to go to the World Championships.
Told he should be meeting with them shortly for another evaluation. Canada just announced 21 players for their roster, with 4 open spots remaining."

So the truth is, Suzuki did accept Team Canada's invitation, but he'll only be able to compete if he gets medical clearance from the Canadiens' doctors.
It's definitely something to keep an eye on, and this upcoming meeting will be critical for Suzuki if he hopes to join
Sidney Crosby,
Nathan MacKinnon, Marc-André Fleury, and the rest at the World Championship.
There are still four spots left for Canada.
Will Nick Suzuki claim one of them?
It is now confirmed, Nick Suzuki is still nursing injuries and won't be joining Team Canada at the World Championship.
