We have an update regarding the Montreal Canadiens' organizational structure. A new 22-year-old hometown forward is officially joining as reinforcement at the third level of the Canadiens' organization and will start with the Trois-Rivières Lions.

Our ECHL affiliate team has just announced the signing of center William Provost, a native of Senneterre, who played with the Val d'Or Foreurs (in the QMJHL) from 2018 to 2023.
He is joining the Lions as reinforcement, but he could also potentially help the Laval Rocket eventually.

Check out the official announcement right here.
Since turning professional, Provost, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 194 pounds, has played with the Fort Wayne Komets, Allen Americans, Maine Mariners, Wheeling Nailers, Worcester Railers, Indy Fuel, Iowa Heartlanders, and, of course, the Trois-Rivières Lions.
All of this from 2022 to 2025.
With these teams, he has accumulated, respectively, 5 points in 6 games, 2 points in 3 games, 10 points in 15 games, 11 points in 26 games, and he has also added 8 more points.
It will be interesting to see if he can be just as productive with the Lions.
In the QMJHL, with Val d'Or, he finished his tenure with two solid seasons:
- 68 points in 66 games (34 goals and 34 assists) in 2022-23.
- 42 points in 66 games (14 goals and 28 assists) in 2021-22.
A new name we may get to know in the coming weeks in Trois-Rivières.
