Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis announced a big decision involving Samuel Montembeault and Jakub Dobes.

At the most recent press conference, St-Louis made a decision that will remain in effect for the rest of the 2025-26 regular season.

Jakub Dobes Will Play at Least 17 Games This Season

St-Louis has already confirmed that Dobes will play a minimum of 17 games this season - specifically those that are part of a back-to-back sequence for the Canadiens.
We're talking about those famous two-games-in-two-nights stretches:
"No surprise, Sam Montembeault starts Wed vs. Leafs.

Martin St. Louis said Jakub Dobes will play at least 17 games this season (with 17 b2b situations)

So you can expect Dobes will play the Wings Thursday."

- Eric Engels, Sportsnet
That already gives a good idea of what's ahead for Jakub Dobes and Samuel Montembeault this season.
"Something to remember all season for Habs duo"
