Journalist Reacts After Patrik Laine's Demotion: 'This Probably Won't End Well'

In the past few hours, we learned that Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine will officially start the season on the fourth line.
Ivan Demidov will be with Alex Newhook and Oliver Kapanen, while Kirby Dach will be with Zachary Bolduc and Brendan Gallagher. No, the Laine / Dach / Demidov combination really didn't last long.
The decision to put Laine on the fourth line (despite his nearly $9 million per year) is sparking huge reactions in Montreal, but also across the NHL today.

Another observer mentioned on the DFO podcast that "this isn't going to end well for them," referring to the Montreal Canadiens..
That said, I get the impression that people believe Laine won't be happy on a fourth line and could become a distraction, but I sincerely believe the Finnish forward has changed.
I believe he has bought in 110% to the team's culture and that he will accept his role, while giving his all on the ice to earn more quality minutes, both at five-on-five and on the power play.
He worked very hard this summer, he has the right attitude, and he keeps putting in the extra work.
