From his very first game in the NHL, the young Lane Hutson has already been penalized.
Due to a ridiculous rule by Gary Bettman, most rookies are fined as soon as they arrive in the NHL.
It's a, let's say, very particular way to welcome a new player.

As per tradition, young Lane Hutson did his famous rookie lap without his helmet, hair blowing in the wind.
It's always a beautiful moment and always gets a good laugh from the other regular players, but it's also prohibited by the NHL.
For a few seasons now, all new NHL players are required to wear their protective helmets at all times during warm-ups.
Violators receive a $2,500 fine from the commissioner, and that's what young Hutson (and probably Logan Mailloux tonight as well) is facing.
One assumes the team, or some veterans on the team, will pay the fine for young Hutson, but it remains a rather peculiar rule by the NHL.
Speaking of Lane Hutson, he certainly did not disappoint in his first game yesterday. He finished the game with:
- 1 point
- 1 shot on goal
- Nearly 22 minutes of ice time
And above all, he generated numerous scoring chances and created many dangerous zone entries. His special talent is evident.
