TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie has just reported some great news live from Brossard involving Kirby Dach.

Kirby Dach is skating again.
Let's recall that on November 16, the Montreal Canadiens announced that Dach would be out for a period of four to six weeks due to a foot injury.
And today, we learn this:
"Kirby Dach skated for about fifteen minutes this morning."
- Renaud Lavoie, TVA Sports

We are therefore (technically) 10 to 14 days away from monitoring a possible return to play for Dach.
When it happens, it will be much-needed reinforcement on offense for Martin St-Louis' squad.
Kirby Dach, 24, is a 6-foot-4, 221-pound forward who has struggled to stay healthy since being drafted third overall by the Chicago Blackhawks.
This season, he had collected 7 points in 15 games, including 5 goals, after recording 22 points in 57 games last season.
In short, it's excellent news to learn that Dach is nearing a return to action (for good this time, hopefully).
Marc-Olivier Beaudoin also provides a clear overview of the injury situation:
Approximate return dates for injured Habs players:

Jayden Struble: Day-to-day
Kirby Dach: December 28, 2025 (skated this morning)
Kaiden Guhle: January 23, 2026
Patrik Laine: February 28, 2026
Alex Newhook: March 17, 2026

Maximum timelines based on team updates.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what Martin St-Louis' lines will look like when Kirby Dach is ready to return, and I'm also eager to see what will happen with center Joe Veleno.
Will he be placed on NHL waivers at that point?
