Montreal Canadiens prospect Alexander Zharovsky is having an excellent start to the season in the KHL.

Playing with Salavat Yulaev Ufa, the Canadiens' first-round pick from the most recent draft has been averaging a point per game, and reported by insider Marco D'Amico, he has received high praise from his coach, Viktor Kozlov.

Former Washington Capitals forward and current head coach of young Alexander Zharovsky, Viktor Kozlov, heaps praise on him

What's likely to excite Canadiens fans are the comments reported here, confirming that Zharovsky has everything it takes to become a dangerous NHL player.
The Hockey IQ and knowing where to be/go in the o-zone really sticks out when it comes to Zharovsky.

Head coach Viktor Kozlov loves his offensive instincts, just wants to see more discipline/defensive commitment.

One scout said: "If he can round out his game, MTL has a gem."

- Marco D'Amico
Indeed, this scout - whose identity is unknown - even went so far as to say that if the young 18-year-old Russian forward manages to refine his game, he could become a true gem for the organization.
Those comments inevitably bring to mind a certain Ivan Demidov, even though we're not talking about a prospect of the same caliber.
All signs point to the Montreal Canadiens having made an excellent acquisition in the second round of the most recent NHL Draft - something former Washington Capitals forward Viktor Kozlov also confirms.
