"Samuel Montembeault came back to Laval with the Rocket last night. He will have a couple of practices in Brossard tomorrow and Tuesday. With Jakub Dobes probably getting the start tonight and Jacob Fowler probably Tuesday, all parties involved believe its better for Samuel Montembeault to have couple of good practices. He will be with the Canadiens for the next trip starting in Tampa on December 28."
He will practice tomorrow and Tuesday in Brossard under the supervision of Marco Marciano before traveling with the Canadiens on the post-Christmas road trip.
The goal was notably to avoid unnecessary travel for him.
The initial plan was discussed, then changed at some point between last night and this morning. The Canadiens still believe strongly in him."
Samuel Montembeault's stint with the Laval Rocket is therefore officially over. The Montreal Canadiens adjusted their plan quickly, and this change speaks volumes. In his brief time in Laval, Montembeault allowed five goals on 52 shots over two appearances.
Management clearly revised its strategy sometime between last night and this morning, opting for a different approach.
