The end of the game at the Bell Centre led to an emotional moment, especially for young Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jacob Fowler.

Fowler had just earned the first shutout of his NHL career, and the ovation was spontaneous.
The 20-year-old goaltender was applauded for a long time by the fans after stopping all 31 shots from the Pittsburgh Penguins.
In that context, some noted that the transition to the interview happened too quickly. Renaud Lavoie moved immediately into his questions while the ovation was still echoing in the arena.
There was therefore some criticism for this reason.
"Renaud Lavoie can't keep his mouth shut long enough to let the kid get his ovation. So frustrating."

- PM Perron
Personally, I did not perceive it that way, but it is a comment that is circulating widely on social media, so I am curious.
What is your opinion on that?

Some criticism toward Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports for how he handled Jacob Fowler's unique moment at the Bell Centre

The criticism circulated, but it also deserves nuance.
Live broadcasting has its constraints, especially after an emotional game where everything unfolds very quickly. There was nothing malicious in the approach, at least in my view.
The moment was simply too powerful, too charged, to be perfectly aligned with the usual pace of media coverage. These are sometimes the risks of live television, especially when a young player is experiencing a milestone moment.
In the end, nobody stole Fowler's spotlight. The ovation was there, the message was clear, and the locker room then took over with the game puck and internal recognition.
Martin St-Louis made a special gesture by honoring Jacob Fowler and Owen Beck in the locker room after the game.
Those are the moments that matter.
The night belonged to Fowler, and it will remain etched in memory, regardless of the rest.
