Montreal Canadiens forward, Josh Anderson, may have narrowly avoided disaster last night at the Bell Centre against the Ottawa Senators.

As Vincent Duquette wisely pointed out, Josh Anderson's season truly could have ended last night.
During a sequence also involving Senators forward Shane Pinto, Anderson took a skate blade to a very sensitive area.
"Josh Anderson narrowly avoided a potentially serious injury last night when Shane Pinto's blade got caught in the heel of his skate."

A situation that could have certainly led to a torn tendon, and therefore a season-ending injury. (Potentially even two seasons.)
That being said, Josh Anderson can congratulate himself for avoiding this disaster.

An extremely smart equipment decision by Josh Anderson

As reported by Duquette, Anderson returned to the bench, worried. After inspecting his ankle, he realized that, fortunately, he hadn't been cut. A miracle? Maybe not.
That's because Andy decided to start wearing cut resistant socks that significantly reduces the chances of being cut by a skate blade.
What a fortunate outcome!
According to Darren Dreger (TSN), Anderson made the decision yesterday to start wearing cut resistant socks!
What incredible timing!
I hope all Canadiens players watch this sequence and decide to wear cut resistant socks as well.
A torn Achilles tendon is probably one of the worst injuries a hockey player can suffer.
Just ask Max Pacioretty, unfortunately..
