A few weeks ago, a major story involving Gary Bettman surfaced in the National Hockey League.

Serious whispers from credible sources indicated that Bettman had officially begun preparing for his departure as NHL commissioner.
Names have even already been mentioned as potential replacements.
Earlier today, during a press conference, Gary Bettman was finally asked about the topic.

Gary Bettman breaks the silence on his possible retirement as NHL commissioner

Check out what the excellent Chris Johnston from TSN reported.
Gary Bettman, questioned by Pierre LeBrun about his future as NHL commissioner, stated:

"Absolutely not.

You keep trying to get rid of me.

No such luck.

I'm going to see if I can outlast you."
This is a stark contrast to the information that was circulating a few weeks ago, but at the same time, it wouldn't be the first time Bettman has managed to keep things under wraps.
As for his possible replacement, unsurprisingly, Bill Daly's name was mentioned, but the topic quickly shifted elsewhere following Bettman's very clear and direct response.
What do you think, will Gary Bettman still be the NHL commissioner in two or three years?
More details to follow.
