We saw it with the young defenseman of the Montreal Canadiens, Lane Hutson, and now we're seeing it with Jakub Dobes. These are athletes who are very tough, very harsh, and very critical of themselves.
Despite the fact that he is probably the sole and unique reason the Canadiens were able to collect a valuable point last night, he was still very critical of himself.
Here's an excerpt from one of his statements on RDS last night.
«I wasn't really happy with my first period.
I didn't like my level of competition on the first (goal).
On the second, I didn't really like my body language..
After the first period, I told myself that I had to get going.
I'm proud that we responded and I had a better second and third period after all.»
«It wasn't a perfect game.
For the next one, I need to play 60 full minutes to deserve to win.»
- Jakub Dobes yesterday on RDS
I don't necessarily agree with him, because I believe, on the contrary, that he deserved to win last night's game, and I think he was excellent, but let's just say it bodes well for his next start.
